Mississippi State 66, Alabama 56
Alabama 97, Auburn 77
GAME PREVIEW:
vs. Tennessee, Tuesday, Jan. 29
vs. LSU, Saturday, Feb. 2
at Mississippi State, Wednesday, Feb. 6
at Kentucky, Saturday, Feb. 9.
IN FOCUS: Alabama, which had only four turnovers in the win over Auburn, will have to contend with Tennessee's relentless pressure the next time out. Hollinger and Pickett will have to duplicate the kind of effort they had against Auburn when they had only one turnover between them. Wins in the next two games could do wonders for the Tide's confidence with road games coming up against Kentucky and Mississippi State.
ROSTER REPORT:
--With his 5.6 average, G Mykal Riley is one of four Tide players who are averaging more than five rebounds a game in conference play. F Richard Hendrix leads at 10.2 followed by G Alonzo Gee and F Demetrius Jemison, both at 6.2.
--Riley has 10 steals in the five SEC games, one more than Gee's nine.
--Pickett had his best shooting game of the season against Auburn, going seven of 10 from the field. He was seven of 28 in his previous four games.
