Prichard's Mikhail Torrance will start at point guard for Alabama tomorrow night at Mercer, Crimson Tide coach Mark Gottfried said after practice today. Rico Pickett started the opener, and both can expect to play. Mobile's Brandon Hollinger has also seen time recently at point guard as Alabama continues its search to replacing redshirting star Ronald Steele.

Mercer, by the way, is no joke. The Bears hammered then-No. 18 Southern California 96-81 on Saturday ... on the road. Yikes. So no, this is not an advisable road opener for Alabama.

Also, Richard Hendrix was given the season's first SEC player of the week honors. He posted 22 points and 23 rebounds against in Friday night's 84-72 win over Troy. He also turns 21 on Thursday.
