BASKETBALL SIGNINGS
Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy signed two recruits and a contract extension on the same day Wednesday.
Kennedy signed guards Will Bogan and Terrico White to national letters of intent on the first day of college basketball's early-signing period.
Bogan is from Boise, Idaho, and chose Ole Miss over Air Force, Yale and Portland State. White is from Memphis and chose the Rebels over Arkansas.
The school also announced Kennedy signed an extension with the Ole Miss athletic foundation. The new contract with the department's private fundraising arm runs through June 30, 2011, and will pay $450,000 of his $600,000 salary.
State signs Osby - Coach Rick Stansbury signed one of the nation's top recruits.
Northeast Lauderdale's Romero Osby is rated as the nation's No. 49 prospect by Scout.com.
The lifelong State fan, a 6-foot-8 forward, said he listened to other offers but chose the school that's been recruiting him since the eighth grade.
Bama signs Ronald Steele's brother - Alabama's signings include the younger brother of three-year starting point guard Ronald Steele.
Andrew Steele is a senior guard at Birmingham's John Carroll Catholic High School.
He will get a chance to play with his brother next season, since Ronald Steele is taking a redshirt year. Ronald Steele was a finalist for Class 5A Player of the Year in 2007 after leading John Carroll to the state championship final.
